A trip of Mumbai means a mandatory visit to Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat for most of his fans. The sea-facing Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s bungalow Mannat at Bandra Bandstand in Mumbai is more of a ‘must-visit’ landmark for everyone who loves the King Khan. The beautiful bungalow ‘Mannat’ has been a home for the Khans since 2001. Shah Rukh Khan worked very hard to buy his own house in Mumbai which he named Mannat and when Gauri Khan worked as an interior designer; the things have only turned better. With the passage of time and with their family expanding with their kids, renovations and redesigns were implemented time to time.
Featured in the latest edition of Casa Vogue magazine, Shah Rukh Khan shared a picture from an exclusive photoshoot of Gauri Khan. Sharing the photo on Instagram, King Khan wrote, “Beautiful homes are made by beautiful home makers. Bas!”

She exposed her heart out on what they call their ‘home’. Home is not just a place but a feeling and no one understands it better than Gauri, who is not simply Shah Rukh Khan’s better half but also the head architect of the house and designed the exquisite interiors tastefully over the years.
Talking to the magazine in an interview Gauri said, “I don’t like minimalist spaces. I love things that are warm, eclectic, personal and collectable. My home ‘Mannat’ has been built gradually over years of collecting stuff that I feel passionately about. It’s essential to make something your own.” Talking about Mannat’s facade, Gauri said, “I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.”
She added that the Mannat’s facade (exterior) is pristine white, glamorous, imposing, with massive pillars and it is special because it is also the place where lakhs of SRK’s fans take their selfies. Sharing the details of Mannat Gauri added, “Every member in my family has contributed towards making this space their own.”
Telling about her favourite things in ‘Mannat’, Gauri said that the house has the over-scaled silhouettes – a jade Ganpati, a pair of four-foot-tall black vases from Paris and a life-sized marble Radha-Krishna sculpture to name a few.
The six-storey bungalow has multiple bedrooms, a terrace, a garden, personal quarters and expansive entertainment spaces. What is more about ‘Mannat’, SRK also has a 42-seater home theatre which just reflects a little about Shah Rukh Khan’s love for films. The entrance of the theatre boasts of tall vintage posters of blockbuster films ‘Sholay’, ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ and ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ and ‘Charlie Chaplin’s walking stick frames’.
SRK’s Mannat also has a Terrace-Garden to enjoy the beautiful sight seeing around the sea-side. The auditorium has mahogany velvet walls, leather recliners (chairs) and yes, it also has every Shah Rukh movie till date available on loop. Isn’t it a dream room for every SRK fan? Yes, Mannat is a lavish dream home for all.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan got married in 1991. They are parents to 3 adorable kids- Aryan Khan (21), Suhana Khan (19), and AbRam Khan (6).
